Crash: Original Poem

My brain never stops
It doesn’t know how to sleep
It talks and it talks
And I don’t know how to keep
All of these thoughts from spilling out
Projects, improvements, answers and art
Ideas to change the world- to start a spark
Of learning, or growth, or something totally new
Something that will make a difference for me and for you
And when I have time to sort through these thoughts (Which is never)
I don’t know where to start, how to choose which is the most clever
Idea to run with – to really give a go
So I try to do all of them even though I know
There’s no way I can
So my brain starts to fuss
And tells me to try anyway
To give them all a chance
Write down all your ideas
And follow that dance
When it leads you down the garden path
Don’t stop to smell the roses
Keep on going and going
Because who knows where this
Will take you as it’s flowing
Out of your mind and you scramble to get it on to paper
Til you’re left with thousands of ideas to try and look at later
And they keep on coming, faster than you can record
Whilst you’re still trying to understand how you are possibly bored
When you have all these thoughts of things to try out
But you’re drowning in them, so you try to shout
And people will offer a helping hand
But it’s not easy to explain what you have planned
So you struggle on and on, until you feel totally drained
And you crash
You stop
For a moment
Until it starts all over again

text reads "poems" four times in different fonts. The text is on a purple shape that looks like a piece of paper. In front of this is a small glass container with ink and a turquoise feather pen. Around all of this is a smattering of gold sparkles.
